A kind of wet, kind of polluted day, and the 'polluted' part is not all that uncommon. The partial facade on the lower right is a strong clue – at least to anyone who's ever been here.

And the answer is ………………………………………………………………………….. it's Macau, across the Pearl River delta from Hong Kong, a "special administrative region" of China. The facade is the ruins of the Cathedral of St. Paul, built by Jesuits under Portuguese colonial rule and destroyed by fire in 1835
