Coup Watch: Forget That Vacation to Equatorial Guinea This Week

Posted on February 17, 2009 by bill

Today: Gunmen in Boats Attack Presidential Palace.

Interestingly, maybe, British mercenary Simon Mann is there in Malabo – in jail for a coup attempt. Are they busting him out?

Would you be so kind
as to buy me a cup of coffee?

Welcome. Much as we froth up about the Trump/Brexit years just now, the world doesn't even pause. There's a lot going on out there and we talk about it here.

I'm Bill Murray, travel writer, picture-taker and lifetime traveler.

I’m author of three books: Out in the Cold, Travel Adventures in Svalbard, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland and Canada, Common Sense and Whiskey and Visiting Chernobyl.

I contribute a monthly column about off-the-beaten-track travel to the Monday Magazine at 3QuarksDaily.com, and I curate EarthPhotos.com, a collection of 20,000+ photos from the 120 countries and territories to which my wife and I have traveled.

Our ongoing mission is to get to places we haven't been, write books and articles, post commentary here and photos on EarthPhotos.com.

We live on a horse farm in the southern Appalachian mountains, USA, and spend as much of each summer as we can at our mökki on Lake Saimaa in Finland.

As to the increased political chatter here lately, I just can't help it.

LinkedIn Bio here.

Here's where we've been and when.
